Laser Hair Reduction Procedure

The signature laser hair reduction procedures at the skin clinic , is based on clinically proven FDA approved laser technologies . With this device, laser light targets the dark pigment of the hair.  A beam of highly concentrated light (laser) is passed over your skin. It heats the hair structure. The intense heat damages the hair follicle called melanin, which causes the hair to drop and stops it from being produced further.

But I have tried lasers before, and they don’t seem to work!

The Micro Lens Array (MLA) handpiece of the PICOCARE450 has multiple lenses converging on to the skin, producing a high intensity on a specific site. Skin problems during pregnancy

During pregnancy, a woman’s body goes through a multitude of physiological changes. Your skin is also prone to these effects. These changes can affect the skin, especially the cutis [the dermis and the epidermis layers]. Cutaneous changes develop in more than 90% of all pregnant women. These include common cutaneous changes that occur in most cases to severe diseases, some of which are seen exclusively in the pregnancy and postpartum phases.

Some of the common skin problems during pregnancy are:

• Hyperpigmentation
• Stretch marks

• Melasma [brown patches on the face around the cheeks, nose, and forehead]

Other less common skin conditions during pregnancy includes prurigo of pregnancy, pemphigoid gestationis, and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP).

Prurigo of pregnancy

Prurigo of pregnancy can occur in up to 1 in 300 pregnancies. Prurigo of pregnancy is a benign non-specific pruritic (itchy) rash that arises during pregnancy. Symptoms of prurigo of pregnancy include tiny, itchy bumps resembling insect bites and are typically caused by pregnancy-induced changes to the immune system. It can affect women throughout their pregnancy with symptoms getting worse with each passing day.

Pemphigoid gestationis

Pemphigoid gestationis is a rare pregnancy-associated autoimmune skin disease that is characterized by an itchy rash that develops into blisters. It is most common during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy is a liver disorder that occurs in pregnant women. This condition causes severe itchiness (pruritus) in the expectant mother. The itchiness usually begins on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet and then spreads to other parts of the body. Occasionally, affected women have yellowing of the skin

Just like the skin on your face, your neck and chest regions have certain concerns. Some of the most common neck skin problems and chest skin issues we see among our patients are as follows:

Acanthosis Nigericans is the brownish – blackish velvety thickened skin around the folds of the neck and other body folds. This is most commonly seen in slightly obese individuals. Similar darkening can happen in the underarms and groin regions. It occurs due to an unhealthy stressful lifestyle which causes metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and production of growth factors making the skin thicken in these folds. Treatment includes weight reduction as the first step, dietary modifications and fractional ablative lasers superimposed with pigment reducing Q-switched lasers.

Skin tags are small, soft skin-coloured growths that hang off the skin and look similar to warts. They’re usually found on the neck, armpits, in the groin area or under the breasts. Skin Tags can be removed with the radio frequency cautery. However, if there are too many skin tags, they need to be removed with the superficial mode of UltraPulse Laser

 Cherry angiomas or red moles are common skin growths that can develop on different areas of your body. They are usually spotted on people aged 30 and above. They appear red because of the collection of small blood vessels inside the mole. These can be removed with the vascular laser.

Aged neck is what we term neck skin that is wrinkled and saggy. To rejuvenate skin on the neck, we do a laser peel with a laser-assisted delivery of skin boosters. Fillers are also used to even out the deeper neck creases.

Treatment for Neck & Chest Skin Rejuvenation
